Entry requirements

Appropriately qualified, registered and insured medical professionals with foundation botulinum toxin training and previous injecting experience. Evidence of registration, foundation training and insurance is required.

Curriculum

Facial proportions; muscle strength; static and dynamic assessment; upper and lower face, jawline and neck relationships; anatomy; patient selection; contraindications; prescribing responsibilities; mapping and techniques; complication prevention; aftercare and clinical documentation.

Practical learning and assessment

Pre-course learning, supervised live-model treatment and structured competency assessment. Listed practical areas include the principal upper-face areas, masseter, platysmal bands, lip flip and depressor anguli oris. Other muscles are discussed for assessment. Patient-specific prescribing responsibilities are included.
